bio

Sophie is a talented dancer, acrobat and musical theatre artist who has been performing on stage since before she could walk. In 2016, Sophie graduated with a Diploma of Musical Theatre and Commercial Jazz from the Australian Dance Performance Institute (ADPI) and will work towards an Advanced Diploma qualification at ADPI in 2017. She was also awarded a Certificate III in Performance Art in 2014 from ADPI. Sophie has trained in all forms of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop and more with qualifications across Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD) and Australian Teachers of Dancing (ATOD) syllabuses. Her dance and performance training started at a very young age as she was literally born into a dance family. Sophie’s grandmother is a founding member and Life member of the ATOD and her mother, aunt and great aunt are also dancers, teachers and examiners. Sophie’s accomplishments include winning numerous local eisteddfod, State and National awards in both dance and acrobatics. She has also performed professionally with the Paris Opera Ballet: La Bayadere in its Brisbane season as well as performing at Disneyland in Los Angeles and attending numerous Global Dance Conventions in Sydney and The Edge Studio Workshops in Los Angeles. Sophie has taught and coached all styles of dance and acrobatics and enjoys choreography. Sophie believes in ensuring dancers and acrobats have a solid technical foundation on which to build their creativity and performance skills.

“Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion”
